Lord, I have sinned against You. I was condemned to eternal death because Your Word says the soul that sins shall die[i]. And the wages of sin is death[ii].
Because I was condemned,[iii] I was separated from Your presence[iv]. I could not approach You without guilt and shame.
Now I understand that Jesus died in my place, suffering the judgment of my sins[v]. You made Him Who knew no sin to be sin for me, that I might become the righteousness of God[vi]. He paid for my rebellion. The wages of sin is death but Jesus died as my substitute, taking my place in death. He is my righteousness[vii].
Since Jesus Christ suffered in my place, there is no more punishment for me to bear[viii]. You now give to me Your own righteousness[ix]. I accept Your gift of righteousness[x].
Because Christ is in me[xi] I can now stand in Your presence without the shameful consciousness of sin or inferiority, because I am Your child[xii] and You are my Father[xiii].
As I walk according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh, there is no condemnation because I am in Him[xiv]. Because I believe in what You have done for me, I have passed from death to Life[xv]. You have delivered me from the power of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of Your love[xvi].
Thank you, Lord! The arrow of shame is broken. My dignity is restored.
AMEN!
