Gospel Relevance in 18 Words

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,  which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.  But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.  As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.”
  Galatians 1:6-10

I’ve heard a lot about making the Gospel more relevant.

We can’t make the gospel relevant. What could be more relevant than a Creator’s plan to redeem a lost creation by sending His Son to die for it?

We only make the gospel irrelevant by living and teaching something other than the truth – something that pleases man.

If we stick to the basics so clearly related in scripture, we have a relevant message for everyone. It’s when we confuse it by adding our other-gospel ideas that it loses it’s relevance.

And the Gospel is at its most relevant state when it is carried, lived and portrayed in the life of a believer.

Here’s the 18 word Gospel:

God and Christ, the Giver and the Gift.  God was in Christ and now Christ is in you.

Does it get any more relevant than that?
