Guest Blogger Courtney JnBaptiste on Uncertainty

by Mark T. Hancock · 2 comments

A common ploy of the enemy is to instill uncertainty within us.  The end goal: to erode one’s foundation, to weaken it until the entire house gives way.  Throughout history, the enemy has continued to employ the same device.

God explicitly forbade man to eat of the tree.  Adam couldn’t have misunderstood.  He knew what God had said!  However, the enemy was determined to challenge this, “Did God [really] say?”

Jesus had just been baptized by John and anointed with the Holy Spirit.  God the Father had borne witness of Jesus’ identity by publicly declaring, “This is my beloved son.” Yet, the enemy challenged Jesus, “If you are the son of God…” In other words, “Did God really say that you are his son?”

When God speaks to you, the enemy will certainly challenge whatever it is that God has declared in an attempt to break your focus and undermine your faith.

When God speaks, He means every word of it.  Resist the cold voice of uncertainty, “Did God really say?”  Rather like Paul, boldly profess, “I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able.”

What has GOD spoken to you today?

Great post. That’s right – Satan certainly has no new tricks. That’s why the word tells us we are not ignorant of his devices.
