What to Do While You’re Waiting for…?

Here at “LeaveTheGate.com” we all love dreams. They are hints of the great adventures and hidden secrets of our destiny that fall into place as we grow into the stature and fullness of Christ.

But what do we do while we are waiting for the dream to become reality?

We wait. In the most active form of the word. As in “waiting” on tables in a busy restaurant or “waiting hand-and-foot” on a critical patient.

We do the basics. We love God and love people. And we do it extravagantly.

If your dream is to impact the nations, start where you are.  Impact your neighborhood.

If your dream is to be married to your yet unmet soul-mate, serving God together faithfully, start where you are. Sow your time and energy into serving Godly couples and lonely people.

If your dream is to see mass miracles, start where you are. Pray for the sick.

Think of it this way:

Serve the folks you already know, amaze the strangers you can already reach, share with the supposedly insignificant who will begin to trust you because you care. Seize the opportunities you have.

Large-scale looks good in dreams, but realization is mostly about doing what you can with what you have. The dream will manifest on its own.

Remember, God wants the dream He planted in you to become a reality as much as you do. Take care of His business wherever you can and He will take care of yours.

I loved this, Mark. You are right. Sometimes we look to the future destination so much we can forget to enjoy our present journey. Doing what our hand finds to do with all our might is the key. I asked Dr TL how he built such a team of leaders around him. He said he didn’t have a clue; he just focused on what God called Him to do, and the people came of their own accord.
